Dirk and Julia hid out at the campfire, enjoying each other’s presence as Rikarii found comfort in Sakuri. The little slice of heaven they found themselves was amazing. With the lakeshore rolling across the starlight, gentle and lulling - it was a paradise. But, the two exchanged glances between themselves. This wasn’t the place that they needed to be at - and these weren’t the people that needed them. Eventually, Rikarii and Sakuri both wandered off by the time the moon rise right into the sky. Dirk and Julia watched the fire crackle, both thinking the same thing.
“Well,” Dirk mumbled, his morality tugging at his chest, “I’m afraid we can’t stay here too much longer, dear…”
“I’ve written the coordinates in my journal, and I’ll maybe even make a copy of them for our friend.”
“We’ve got to come back here,”
“There’s no doubt about it! But - just a little bit longer, then we’ll go back to work.” Dirk assured Julia, wanting to stay in the safe haven for as long as possible.
