Allorah’s brow furrowed. Did she want to know how Alex knew about what was on other planets? The girl was strange and Allorah really did not know if she was more intrigued or terrified.
“Yeah. It’s pretty crazy sometimes. You can’t just judge someone so quickly.” She puffed. “School is the worst. Mom is pretty used to taking over school responsibilities. For a long time, Dad was nocturnal and he’s still having a hard time adjusting.” She shrugged. “It’s not too hard.”
Just then, the waitress came back with a tray bursting with food. It was mostly Allorah’s who had a mountain of french fries next to her two very large burgers, and her mouth was watering immediately at the smell of it. “There you are, dears,” the waitress said as she placed it all on the table in front of them. Allorah’s feast made Alex’s burger look very small in comparison even if she had received a generous portion as well.
“Let me know if you need anything.”
Before the waitress could even step away, Allorah picked up a burger and shoved a huge bite in her mouth, eating happily. It was easy to imagine her with a wagging tail as she happily chowed down.
