Erik looked closely at the picture of Ethan and his head tilted a little as his eyebrows furrowed. Some sort of supernatural force had obviously played a role in Ethan’s life because normal humans did not freeze and turn into supernatural beings. It was odd that he ran into so many supernatural people. Though, maybe it was because supernaturals just seemed to attract each other.
“I’m glad you all have had support with each other,” he told Maya, smiling. “That’s -”
Ava decided to wriggle her way into the kitchen just then, obviously looking for Erik once more. Her face tensed a little like she wanted to growl at the other people she saw with him, but she decided to stand right up against him instead and take a seat. She lowered her head and leaned it into him.
The force of her head nudge knocked him around slightly and he had to steady himself and his cup. Erik sighed heavily, shook his head, and then put a hand on her head as he pet her.
